Cataloochee Valley is located in North Carolina at the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I have visited this area on several occasions trying to capture this amazing place during all four seasons. I will continue to visit as I have no winter photos. These photos were made in the fall of 2012 in October as the leaves were just begining to turn. The Palmer Chapel and the Caldwell House are just two of the buildings that you will have access to. You can watch as the locals come out each day, to watch the elk move from the foothills into the valley each afternoon around 4:00. It's an amazing thing to see and photograph. This makes a great day trip for the entire family. Highly recommended !
